Rainham Platinum Jubilee Sign officially unveiled

It's official now! The sign was unveiled on Sunday 5th March 2023 by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Col Gilbert, representing His Majesty the King and the Mayor of Medway, Cllr Jan Aldous.

Competition winner Natasha Springett also assisted with unveiling the sign along with members of the judging panel and Member of Parliament, Rehman Chishti MP. Natasha, who is also a local brownie leader, was also presented with a special award for her service to the community by Girl Guiding. Cllr Potter, Cllr Carr and George Perfect were also in attendance from our Rainham North Team.

The sign will now stand as a local landmark to celebrate Rainham and it will be a lasting tribute to our late Queen. We are very grateful to all who have been involved in the project which has been a joy to lead. Thank you to the fellow judging panel members John Weir, Julie Sharp and Cllr Barry Kemp. Also a big thank you to the Medway Council Communications Team and Highways Team who have been instrumental in delivering this project, especially Jo Knowles, who took Natasha's design from paper to sign.
